End Times Considered
by John McGlone

Acts 1:11
Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is
taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The passage from Acts 1 of Jesus’ Ascension gives us a beautiful clue about Jesus’ return at the end of the age. He will come down the same way He went up to return to the Father in heaven.

Another clue about Jesus’ return is given in the remarkable passage in 2 Thess 1:7-10, which must happen after the seventh trumpet of God sounds.

2 Thess 1:7-10 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Mark 13:3-37
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. 20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. 21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Many things are outlined in these passages from Mark regarding the return of Christ and signs that we will know of Jesus’ coming.

Jesus warns believers not to be deceived, because many will claim to be He, fooling many but it can not be Him, why? Because 2 Thess 1 which I outlined above gives us HOW Jesus will come back from heaven just as He went up in Acts 1. That return will be dramatic with the whole of the heavenly host with Him, riding on white horses as Rev explains. It will be fiery and destructive to all who are not converted before His return.

Rev 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

As we see many ideas from Scripture begin to formulate how we can can understand what is to come if we diligently seek the knowledge from God’s Word. This passage from Rev 19 begs the question of where believers are when this happens. I think it is clear, at that time in the future, we are caught up in the air with Him and the armies descending upon the earth.

1 Thess 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.1Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

by John McGlone Mar 15, 2019

Saints, this is such an important question to ensure we get right for the salvation of our souls and those that hear us! We should be regularly examining ourselves, testing the spirits to see if what we have or are believing according the instruction of the Holy Ghost by the Holy Writ.

1 Tim 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

I welcome you to get a pad of paper and pen out that you would note all the Scriptures we cover in these three days of fellowship, over three hours of instruction. Taste and see that the Lord is good! Personally, I think this is some great steak from God’s Word on how we should understand what the Gospel is that we are to preach and share. Master, What Will be the Sign of Your Coming? Vol 1

End Times Considered
by John McGlone

Perhaps Eschatology, the study of the End Times is one of the most controversial, divisive, and polyviewed doctrine in all of Christendom.  There are Pre, Mid, Post Tribulation and PreWrath Rapture views of when the saints of God will be caught up in the air to be with Him forevermore.  There are Pre ,Post Millennial, and Amillennialism  views of when the New Jerusalem will be upon the earth.

Premillennialism, in Christian eschatology, is the belief that Jesus will physically return to the earth (the Second Coming) before the Millennium, a literal thousand-year golden age of peace. The doctrine is called “premillennialism” because it holds that Jesus’ physical return to earth will occur prior to the inauguration of the Millennium.

Amillennialism (Greek: a- “no” + millennialism), in Christian eschatology, involves the rejection of the belief that Jesus will have a literal, thousand-year-long, physical reign on the earth. This rejection contrasts with premillennial and some postmillennial interpretations of chapter 20 of the Book of Revelation

Postmillennialism, in Christian end-times theology (eschatology),  is an interpretation of chapter 20 of the Book of Revelation which sees Christ‘s second coming as occurring after (Latin post-) the “Millennium“, a Golden Age in which Christian ethics prosper.[1] The term subsumes several similar views of the end times, and it stands in contrast to premillennialism and, to a lesser extent, amillennialism (see Summary of Christian eschatological differences).

Preterism is a Christian eschatological view that interprets some (partial preterism) or all (full preterism) prophecies of the Bible as events which have already happened. Much of this view is based upon seeing the prophecies of Revelation as events that happened in the first century AD  at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.  They hold annihilationism, that eternal hell is not true.  Also, they believe that Jesus is not actually God.  This is heresy of the oldest and basest sort.

There are many other views and ideas about the end times, but I believe we should just let the Bible interpret the Bible and the Holy Ghost to show us the way to the Kingdom, amen?  I believe the Lord showed me years ago an excellent key to understanding the end times as they unfold is to look for a key question that the disciples and the Jews were constantly asking Jesus, “Tell us, when shall these things be? …. and of the end of the world?”

Matt 23:3-4 “…the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”

Matt 24:3-14  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8  All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

So, a first step in end times understanding is to look for the keys in the New Testament Scriptures.  Then we can assemble them all in one place which will begin to give us a clearer picture of what will be seen before the end of the age actually is upon us!  Secondly, we should take a look at any Old Testament prophecy or Scripture that relates to these New Testament passages we just mentioned.  Now we will have many pieces to arrange and put into some type of chronological order.

PUZZLE PIECE #1 THE TWO WITNESSES

Rev 11:1-14
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.  14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

God’s Two Oil Lamps

Some of My Suppositions
1. The world has never seen these two prophets outside the Temple in Jerusalem.
2. These two prophets will do Moses & Elijah like miracles and then some! They will hold back water, turn water to blood, and even kill their enemies that are attempting to kill them with fire out of their mouths!
3. They are finally slain by the beast who will rise out of the pit.
4. Their death and resurrection after 3.5 years is a major flag!
5. The whole world will create a holiday to celebrate their murder. I call it, “Happy We Killed the Prophets Day”. They will give gifts to each other, what lunacy!
6. This will be midway through the tribulation, 3.5 years remain for about the time the Seventh Seal will be broken and the Saints will go to be with Jesus Christ in the air. .
7. Verse one implies a third temple to be built. The Jews have been preparing this for years.

Fake News! Fake Gov’t! Fake Church!

US govt shutdown Jan 2019

by John McGlone Jan 26, 2019

With the US government shutdown running into it’s record length, one has to wonder is it real at all? Is it just another shell game to fool the masses, to expand corruption, to instill fear that we lose our precious way of life here in America? It begs the question in this wicked and apostate age is anything in the human experience anymore actually genuine? Here are a list of things in this world that come into questions about what is authentic: 1. Truth 2. Love 3. Family 4. Information 5. Government 6. Education 7. Medicine-Science 8. Sexuality 9 Money 10. NASA 11. ad infinitum-nauseum.

Jesus is the TRUTH, God is LOVE, God designed the FAMILY structure, the Holy Bible instructs us with righteous INFORMATION, Jesus is the KING of kings, the only true, righteous, and good GOVERNMENT, God wants to EDUCATE us and our progeny, Jesus is our HEALER the only true medicine, God designed NORMAL SEXUALITY between a man and a woman in holy matrimony, the LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil, NASA is full of lies about God’s cosmology and creation.

In all of these areas the church, I mean all true Christians, have become sugar and darkness instead of salt and light! They have feared men instead of God, hidden the true Gospel under a bush, and failed miserably in being effectual for the true ministry of Jesus Christ. Thus God’s Word is proven true about our nation and the god we have made up for ourselves collectively.

Matt 5:13-16
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

If we are to preach and proclaim the truth of Christianity to a lost and wicked world what is the standard by which we make such claims on absolute truth? This FB article by Jesse Boyd was so filled with the fire of the Holy Ghost I had to share it! Church REPENT!

by Jesse Boyd
Those of you who claim the name of Christ and lightly esteem the written Word of God, BEWARE. Those like wicked pastors out there who claim to love God and to love people and yet mock the Bible, BEWARE. The written Word of God is not just a book, it’s not some antiquated diatribe. It’s a giant spiritual BEAR TRAP, so beware. After all, HE (see Hebrews 4:13–“neither is there anything that is not manifest in HIS sight”) can DISCERN (Hebrews 4:12); HE can SEE with x-ray vision (Hebrews 4:13); HE can RAISE UP people out of the dust for the sole purpose of judgment (Romans 9:17); HE can FORESEE and PREACH details about the future long before they happen (Galatians 3:8); HE can BREAK in pieces (Jeremiah 23:29) and HE inevitably leads people to saving faith (Romans 10:17).

In the wilderness, Israel waxed fat, grew thick, and lightly esteemed the Rock of her salvation (Deuteronomy 32:15). Have we Christians here in America done the same, making our feelings, whether or not we “have a peace” about something, and our “convictions” the authority over and above the Written Word of the Living God? Without the Holy Bible inspired by God and perfectly preserved for us in a language we can understand, we spoiled Americans wouldn’t even know the Lord and Saviour and what He wants us to do, let alone who He is.

You say the rallying point, the common ground, is the person of Jesus Christ. But which Christ? The Catholic Christ who can’t deal with you directly? The Mormon Christ who is the spirit child of an alien from the planet “Kolob” and has a brother named Satan? The Charismatic Christ who changes with the wind and wouldn’t dare offend a Jesuit priest or a lesbian with the truth? The Emergent Christ who appeases the wicked and yet despises His own Body (i.e. the church)? The Postmillennial Christ who has no tangible throne and can only speak in dark allegories that a select few can understand? The Muslim Christ who didn’t really die on a cross? The Christ of Judaism who has never even been to this earth? The Hindu Christ who survived the crucifixion and is buried somewhere in Kashmir? The Baptist Fundamentalist Christ who cares more about whether or not you attend every Sunday and Wednesday service than if you love your brethren, preach the Gospel, and obey the Great Commission? The Methodist Christ who said homosexuality is a sin and that women are not to pastor churches, but he was really only joking? The Buddhist Christ who was absorbed into nothingness? The Lutheran Christ who checks off confirmation class attendance? The Presbyterian Christ who died for a select few that were sprinkled with water? The Christ of the Church of Christ who begats with water instead of with the Holy Ghost? The Southern Baptist Christ who entertains and performs? The Abolitionist Christ who cares more about abortion and frozen embryos than going into all the world and preaching the Gospel to every creature? The Replacement Christ who can’t keep promises? The Reformed Christ who venerates men? Which is it? Which Christ are you talking about? That’s easy, whatever you make Him out to be . . . UNLESS you rally around the BOOK that declares exactly who HE is and what HE wants from you.

Without the written Word of God as the center of Christian fellowship and the final authority in matters of faith and practice, all such fellowship is a ultimately a facade and a farce.

The HOLY BIBLE–the divinely inspired, perfect preserved, saint-used, time-tested, words of the Living God and the ABSOLUTE MONARCH of all BOOKS. O BIBLIOS, THE BOOK!

And, in the BOOK it is written: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said” (Matthew 28:6). Moreover, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore . . .” (Matthew 28:18-19).

Turning Cities Upside Down During the Xmass Season

by Bro John McGlone

Saints, we have started our ‘holiday’ season preaching last Black Friday in Louisville at the Light Up Louisville Xmas tree lighting ceremony revelry.   We have been preaching there many years and were blessed again to lift up our voices for Jesus, and to be reviled for the truths that we preach from the Bible which is in such marked contrast to American culture and ‘churches’.

Bro Bill Preacher and John McGlone @ LightUpLouisville

Today, Dec 1st,  Bros Marvin Heiman and Joshua will head out to Columbia, Ky to preach at their small Christmass parade event.  We have always been given great favor using banners and small amplifiers to preach to our local community.

Tomorrow Bro Joshua and I will head out to Glasgow, Ky to preach at their local Xmass parade event.   Last year the city was set on it’s head with the truths of the Bible they obviously have not been hearing in their ‘churches’.    I will share here some of the media and events that happened after that fateful night of exciting preaching on the public square in that city.

CITY ATTORNEY RICH ALEXANDER TO ADDRESS THE GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL REGARDING RECENT FIRST AMENDMENT FREE SPEECH ISSUES [OF PREACHERS WHO UPSET US]

Daniel Rusk Beaten in Glasgow
Br. Daniel had only preached for some 15 minutes before he was beaten and I was restrained from trying to intervene on his behalf.  He was subsequently arrested and charged for disorderly conduct by the police and attacker who claimed Daniel had spit upon him.  We filed charges against the man the next day after Daniel was released from prison.  We followed up months after Daniel’s court date and dismissal of all charges concerning the attacker.  The city attorney claims the man has not shown up for court, is on the run, and they can’t locate him.

In Kentucky, we have all manners of Xmass parades in multitudes of small towns that we can’t even keep up with all of them.  I exhort everyone to get out there to make the message of Christ, known among the heathen in your Jerusalem, your Samaria, and the outer parts of the world.
God bless you.

Earthly Kings Possessed by Satan?

Psalm 2:1-5
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Introduction by John McGlone  Nov 22, 2018

On this thanksgiving day I want to express that I am so thankful for Jesus Christ who saved me from His judgment, my life of sin, so that I may bring Him all the glory He so richly deserves.  I am also thankful for our family, our friends, and even our enemies whom God will use to teach us many things in the years to come.

I have prayed for many years to get a really good historical handle on eschatology which was cogent and could be understood by scholar and layman alike.  I think I have finally stumbled across something which really makes good sense and helps to explain a nagging philosophical problem I had with many descriptions of Satan from the Bible.  These characterizations of the great dragon in Scripture describe earthly kings which transition into the prince of the power of the air, Satan.   I will let the writing speak for itself as it is very well done and very insightful.  This volume by Br. Peter Goodgame is the seventh in the series.  I will warn you that volume one was very dry to me personally and I almost gave up on the read.  In fact, I would recommend you start with volume seven and then head back to the beginning.

The Seven Kings of Satan

We will now attempt to identify the Seven Kings of Satan as they have appeared throughout history. That they are Satanic is evident by the fact that they are initially presented as the seven heads of the dragon in Revelation 12, who is identified as Satan the “serpent of old” in verse nine. They can also be identified by their antagonistic relationship to the God of Israel because in Revelation 13:2 they are said to have “blasphemous names.” They serve Satan and they oppose God and the people who serve Him.

In Daniel 12:1 there is a passage that may help to explain the time frame that we are dealing with in our search for these seven kings. The passage refers to the “time of distress” associated with the apocalypse and the end of the age. Once again, it is an angel that gives Daniel the message, and he says,

“There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then.”

The beginning of nations, as we explained in Part Six, was associated with the Tower of Babel event. It was a separation based on language, but it also involved the handing over of these seventy nations into the hands of the seventy top-ranking fallen angels. This event marked a spiritual transition, and the earth and its nations were given into the spiritual authority of the fallen angels and to Satan their most powerful leader. Daniel was told that the Apocalypse would be the most terrible time of distress from “the beginning of nations” until the end of the Age. In Matthew 24:21 Jesus Himself makes a similar statement,

“For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.”

The word that is translated as “world” is the Greek word kosmos. In the Gospel of John (12:31-32) after predicting His own death, Jesus explained what the “end of the world” would involve: “Now is the time for judgment on this world (kosmos); now the prince of this world (kosmos) will be driven out. But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” In John 16:11 Jesus looked forward to the effects of His death and explained that “the prince of this kosmos now stands condemned.”

The disciples wondered about the events that would happen at the time of the end and they asked Jesus (Matthew 24:3), “Tell us, when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age (Aion)?” After His death and resurrection Jesus ascended into heaven, leaving His disciples with encouraging words (Matthew 28:30), “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Aion).” Concerning the nature of this present Aion, or Age, the Apostle Paul refers to Satan as the “God of this Aion” (2 Corinthians 4:4), saying that he is the deceiver that keeps unbelievers from accepting the Gospel.

This current Age is the Age during which the fallen angels (the Kosmokrators), led by Satan their prince, rule over a fallen earth that is inhabited by fallen human beings. It began as a result of the Tower of Babel and it will end with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, who will either reward or punish all human beings and the fallen angels, and cleanse and renovate the earth.

Nimrod

This Age began because of the conquests and rebellious actions of Nimrod, and so it makes perfect sense to conclude that Nimrod should be identified as the very first of Satan’s seven kings. He ruthlessly conquered the known world, he attempted to rebuild the city of Eridu, the pre-flood capital of the god Enki, and he also began to build the Tower of Babel as a means to resist the divine command to spread out and “fill the earth.” He is the first of the seven kings, and he will also be the last to appear when he comes again and rules as the eighth king. The Antichrist is the “first and the last” to rule over this particular fallen Age, but Jesus Christ is the “First and the Last” of all Creation, and the Ruler of all Ages to come.

The first of Satan’s seven kings is the most important to identify, but thankfully he is also the easiest to identify. We will continue identifying the other six kings, but with them the facts are not always so clear and one or two of the names may be based on conjecture and logical speculation. Our final list will be complete but it may not be 100% accurate, because much more scholarship on this subject can and should be done.

Pharaoh of Egypt

The second king is most likely either the king of Egypt that attempted to kill all male Hebrew children born at the time of the birth of Moses, or perhaps rather the Pharaoh who resisted Moses at the time of the Exodus who was drowned in the Red Sea. An Egyptian identity for the second king makes sense because it was in the land of Egypt that Satan was able to perfect his own religion and create his most lasting empire, and it was in Egypt where the body of Nimrod, known to the Egyptians as Osiris, was laid to rest.

Biblical scholars have explored the idea that the Ten Plagues that forced Pharaoh to release the Hebrews were structured as Divine repudiations of the ten primary Egyptian gods, with the final plague of the death of the first-born aimed against the cult of Osiris, the cult most-closely associated with the Egyptian monarchy itself. This possibility is supported by the fact that Osiris is repeatedly identified as the “first-born son of Geb” throughout the Egyptian Pyramid Texts. In Egyptian myth the god Geb was understood to represent the earth, which is odd because in every other pagan culture the earth is worshiped in feminine form as the Mother Goddess. In Plutarch’s retelling of the legend of Isis and Osiris Plutarch identifies Geb as Kronos, who was in turn understood by classical scholars to be the Greek form of the Mesopotamian god Enki, whose name meant “Lord of the Earth.”

The Greek historian Diodorus Siculus (c.90-30 BC) gives an account of pillars that were found in Arabia that were erected as memorials to Isis and Osiris. He writes that the pillar of Osiris contained the following inscription (which also provides evidence that Osiris was the legendary conqueror Nimrod):

“My father is Kronos, the youngest of all the gods.
I am Osiris the king, who led my army all over the earth
to the uninhabited districts of India and those that lie to the North,
to the source of the river Ister, yea, everywhere, even to the Ocean.
I am the eldest son of Kronos.
Child of the noble and beautiful egg, I was born an offspring congenital with day.
No place is there in the whole world, whereinto I have not been,
conferring on all the benefits whereof I have been the inventor.” [1]

It is very ironic then, that it was from Egypt that the small and insignificant tribe of the twelve sons of Jacob was able to emerge as the Nation of Israel, symbolized in Revelation as the Woman who gave birth to the first-born Son of the Creator of the universe, through whom the world has been redeemed.

Sennacherib of Assyria

The third Satanic king on our list, who must certainly be included somewhere, is King Sennacherib of Assyria. The story of his campaign against King Hezekiah and against Jerusalem is given in 2 Kings 18-19, 2 Chronicles 32, and Isaiah 36-37. It is an amazing story of the effectiveness of prayer and of the mercy, justice and power of God. When King Hezekiah resisted Sennacherib’s demands Sennacherib responded through his messengers with ridicule and blasphemy against the God of Israel. King Hezekiah responded to Sennacherib’s insults by going to the Temple to pray, and after hearing Hezekiah’s prayers God responded through the prophet Isaiah. The story unfolds in Isaiah 37:

“Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,’ this is the word the LORD has spoken against him:
‘The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises and mocks you. The Daughter of Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee. Who is it you have insulted and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! By your messengers you have heaped insults on the Lord. And you have said, ‘With my many chariots I have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost heights of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the choicest of its pines. I have reached its remotest heights, the finest of its forests…’
But I know where you stay and when you come and go and how you rage against me. Because you rage against me and because your insolence has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth, and I will make you return by the way you came…’
Therefore this is what the LORD says concerning the king of Assyria:
‘He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it. By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!’
Then the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies. So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.”

King Sennacherib returned to Ninevah where he went to the temple of the god Nisroch to find out what had gone wrong. While he was worshiping there he was murdered in cold blood by two of his own sons. The possibility that Sennacherib was one of Satan’s seven kings is supported by Isaiah’s description of him in chapter fourteen:

“On the day the LORD gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage, you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon:
‘How the oppressor has come to an end! How his fury has ended! The LORD has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers, which in anger struck down peoples with unceasing blows, and in fury subdued nations with relentless aggression. All the lands are at rest and at peace; they break into singing. Even the pine trees and the cedars of Lebanon exult over you and say, “Now that you have been laid low, no woodsman comes to cut us down.”
The grave below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you—all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones—all those who were kings over the nations. They will all respond, they will say to you, “You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us.”
All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you. How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart,
“I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.” (Isaiah 14:3-15)

Biblical scholars agree that this passage refers to Sennacherib who conquered and ruled Babylon. This conclusion is supported by the statement of Sennacherib in Isaiah 37 in which he boasts of plundering the forests of Lebanon, which connects with the taunts against Sennacherib in Isaiah 14 from those very same forests. However the most provocative portion of Isaiah 14 is where the text transitions seamlessly from a description of the human king to a description of a figure that can only be Satan, or Lucifer, as some texts say. This transition only makes sense once it is understood that Satan himself became manifested on earth through Sennacherib. In other words, Sennacherib was possessed by Satan and should be viewed as one of the seven kings of Satan.

Ithobaal II of Tyre

The fourth king of Satan is the King of Tyre, the powerful Phoenician city-state that dominated trade in the Mediterranean. This king, who was most likely Ithobaal II, was accused of pride and blasphemy by the prophet Ezekiel:

“The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a man and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god…
Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘Because you think you are wise, as wise as a god, I am going to bring foreigners against you, the most ruthless of nations; they will draw their swords against your beauty and wisdom and pierce your shining splendor…
Will you then say, “I am a god,” in the presence of those who kill you? You will be but a man, not a god, in the hands of those who slay you. You will die the death of the uncircumcised at the hands of foreigners. I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD.’
‘…This is what the Sovereign LORD says: You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God… You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.
By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.'” (Ezekiel 28:1-19)

This passage is very similar to Isaiah’s description of Sennacherib in that it also contains a description of a human king that transitions into a description of Satan, who was the perfectly-created guardian angel of the Garden of Eden, who fell from his exalted position because of his pride. Like the case of Sennacherib, these references imply that Ithobaal II, the King of Tyre, was possessed and controlled by Satan.

Tyre’s relationship with Israel was friendly under King Hiram during the reign of Solomon, but after that it degenerated quickly. The prophet Amos accused Tyre of taking Israelites as slaves and selling them to neighboring kingdoms, and of breaking their “covenant of brotherhood” (Amos 1:9-10). The relationship finally reached its lowest point during the time of Ezekiel who predicted God’s judgment upon Tyre (Ezekiel 26-28), which was fulfilled by the conquests of Nebuchadnezzar and Alexander the Great. Ithobaal II was eventually executed by Nebuchadnezzar after being captured and brought to Babylon.

Antiochus IV Epiphanes

The fifth of Satan’s seven kings can only be King Antiochus IV Epiphanes. His career was predicted in Daniel 11:21-35, where he is described as a contemptible and vile person, scheming and deceitful, psychotic and possibly insane, who would focus his rage against the Jews, against God, and against Jerusalem and the holy temple.

Antiochus obtained his throne in Syria by conspiring against the rightful heir and by flattering powerful allies. After he took power he waged war against Ptolemy VI of Egypt, and after striking a treaty with Ptolemy he brought his army into Palestine. He received word that the Jews were rejoicing because of false reports of his death, so he attacked Jerusalem, killing 40,000 and capturing another 40,000 as slaves. He reinstalled his puppet Menelaus as the Jewish high priest who continued Antiochus’ plan to Hellenize the Jews. After another unsuccessful campaign into Egypt Antiochus sent 22,000 troops into Jerusalem to aid Menelaus and to eradicate traditional Jewish worship. His forces attacked Jerusalem on the Sabbath and massacred many worshipers. Antiochus then entered the Temple and consecrated it to Jupiter (Zeus), setting up an idol and sacrificing a pig on the altar. He passed a law that outlawed the Jewish religion, and he killed and tortured the violators that were caught.

The career of Antiochus is typical of Satan’s kings. He was one of the greatest blasphemers against the God of Israel, and he minted coins that pictured himself with the inscription “Antiochus the Great, God Manifest.” He committed the greatest outrage possible against the Lord when he violated His sanctuary and erected a pagan idol within, followed by the sacrifice of an unclean beast on the altar. These acts were an “abomination” against the Lord that will be matched by the Antichrist when he sets up the “abomination of desolation” predicted by Jesus (Matthew 24:15), Paul (2 Thessalonians 2), and Revelation 13. Daniel’s description of Antiochus is similar to those given by Isaiah and Ezekiel for Sennacherib and Ithobaal II, because once again we find a passage that transitions from descriptions of the king into descriptions of another figure. In the case of Daniel, the descriptions of Antiochus lead directly into prophecies of the end-times Antichrist, beginning with Daniel 11:36.

The end came for Antiochus after his retinue was ambushed while plundering the temple of a goddess in Persia. Some accounts say that he was violently slain, while others say he died of a stomach ailment while in retreat. Given the trend followed by these kings it seems more likely that he died violently. In any case Antiochus must certainly be counted as one of Satan’s seven kings, and he completes our list of the first five that were predicted in Revelation 17:10 to “have fallen” at the time that the vision of Revelation was received.

Nero Caesar

The sixth was a king that ruled at the very same time that John’s vision was received. To identify this king we must enter the scholarly debate on when exactly the book of Revelation was written. The modern consensus is that it was written near the end of the first century around 95 AD, but an older tradition holds that it was written around 64-68 AD during the Roman reign of the infamous Nero Caesar. The reasons for accepting such an early date for the writing of Revelation are numerous:

– The Church Father Clement of Alexandria asserted that all revelation ceased under Nero’s reign.
– The Muratorian canon (c. 170 AD) has John completing Revelation before Paul had written to seven different churches (Paul finished these writings in 67-68 AD).
– The Church Father Tertullian placed John’s banishment to Patmos at the same time as Peter and Paul’s martyrdom (67-68 AD).
– The Church Father Epiphanius (315-403 AD) twice stated that Revelation was written under Nero.
– The Syriac version of Revelation (6th century AD) begins with the heading, “written in Patmos, whither John was sent by Nero Caesar.”
– The Byzantine scholar Arethas, from the 9th century wrote, “When the Evangelist received these oracles, the destruction in which the Jews were involved was not yet inflicted by the Romans [70 AD].” [2]

The early date for the writing of Revelation is used by some scholars to support the absurd Preterist interpretation of Bible prophecy. An early date for the book of Revelation may support Preterist arguments, but it hardly proves them, and it can work just as well with literal and futurist interpretations of Revelation.

When we examine the life of Nero we find all of the elements necessary to include him on the list of Satan’s seven kings, and we uncover a tale of sex, violence, scandal and murder, that far exceeds anything an HBO script-writer could imagine.

Nero was born in 37 AD. His father was a wealthy Roman citizen and his mother, Agrippina, was the sister of the Emperor Caligula. Nero’s father died when he was three and at this time, out of a very reasonable fear of his sister, Caligula confiscated their wealth and banished Nero and Agrippina to a tiny island. After Caligula died and Claudius became Emperor of Rome Nero and his mother were freed and Agrippina quickly married another wealthy Roman, who died shortly thereafter, leaving another fortune to Agrippina. After Emperor Claudius executed his wife for scolding him in public he fell under the spell of Agrippina, whom he married and made Empress of Rome in 48 AD, which he lived (or rather died) to regret.

After becoming Empress, Agrippina manipulated Claudius into making Nero his legal heir, against the claims of his own son Britannicus. Nero’s position as heir to the throne was solidified when he married Octavia, the Emperor’s daughter (Nero’s legal sister). From this point the days of Claudius were numbered, and he died by assassination in 54 AD, from poisoning, which made Nero the Emperor of Rome.

As a young man Nero was tutored by the homosexual philosopher Seneca, who was actually one of the more rational Roman thinkers of his day. In the first few years of Nero’s reign it was Seneca who actually controlled the affairs of the Empire and he did an adequate job, despite the fact that he became a hated enemy of Agrippina. This time, however, the game was up for Agrippina, and Nero had his own mother executed in 59 AD. However, the stress in dealing with Nero became too much for Seneca, who retired as Nero’s advisor in 62 AD. From that point on the affairs of the Empire steadily degenerated. Nero went through a string of male and female lovers and focused on pursuing his entertainment career, imagining himself to be a great singer, poet and actor.

In 64 AD Nero moved forward on a plan to rebuild a section of the old city of Rome, and to rename it Neronia in honor of himself. A fire was set to aid in the demolition and to remove the unwanted occupants, but this fire soon raged out of control, destroying three and damaging seven of Rome’s fourteen districts. The fire was then blamed on the community of Christians that lived in Rome, and Nero found it convenient to vent his rage on the young sect that he passionately hated. The Roman historian Tacitus was a young eyewitness and he later recorded what happened in Book XV of his Annals,

“Therefore, to stop the rumor [that he had set Rome on fire], he [Emperor Nero] falsely charged with guilt, and punished with the most fearful tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were [generally] hated for their enormities. Christus, the founder of that name, was put to death as a criminal by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea, in the reign of Tiberius, but the pernicious superstition – repressed for a time, broke out yet again, not only through Judea, – where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also, whither all things horrible and disgraceful flow from all quarters, as to a common receptacle, and where they are encouraged. Accordingly first those were arrested who confessed they were Christians; next on their information, a vast multitude were convicted, not so much on the charge of burning the city, as of “hating the human race.”
In their very deaths they were made the subjects of sport: for they were covered with the hides of wild beasts, and worried to death by dogs, or nailed to crosses, or set fire to, and when the day waned, burned to serve for the evening lights. Nero offered his own garden players for the spectacle, and exhibited a Circensian game, indiscriminately mingling with the common people in the dress of a charioteer, or else standing in his chariot. For this cause a feeling of compassion arose towards the sufferers, though guilty and deserving of exemplary capital punishment, because they seemed not to be cut off for the public good, but were victims of the ferocity of one man.”

Nero’s reign was unique simply for the extent of his persecution of Christians. In 67 AD he executed Peter, and he even went so far as to execute Paul, a Roman citizen. Politically, Nero’s prestige was quickly expended. In 65 AD he faced down a political conspiracy that included his former mentor Seneca, and by 68 AD Nero faced a revolt that came from his generals in the provinces and from the Roman Senate. On June 9, after being abandoned by his guards and his palace attendants, Nero retreated from the soldiers that had been sent to arrest him and he fled to his room where he committed suicide.

Nero exhibited all of the traits and characteristics of a Satanically-possessed individual. He was arrogant and prideful, as well as paranoid and psychotic, and his rage, frustration, and cruelty was directed at God and the people of God. His actions focused on short-term goals and were ultimately destructive, both for himself and for Rome. Nero’s suicidal fate was basically the same as that suffered by Pharaoh of Egypt, who brought himself into the parted Red Sea, and the same as the final king on our list who we turn to next.

Adolf Hitler

After the persecution under Emperor Nero Christianity steadily gained power in Rome, despite scattered persecution and antagonism from various Emperors. Eventually Christianity became the official religion of Rome under Constantine in the fourth century, and the faith spread from its home in the Near East to become the dominant religion in Europe, Africa, and eventually throughout the world. Since that time Christianity has been the most powerful spiritual force on the planet, and during that time, up until the twentieth century, a significant threat to that power was never manifested in the life of a single man.

The seventh and final king is explained in Revelation as the king who “has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while.” He was a king that would appear sometime in the future, and then his authority would last for only a short time. He would be the precursor of the Antichrist himself, and he would exhibit the very same traits as previous Satanic kings, such as pride, rage, paranoia, cruelty, and a passionate hatred of God and the people of God.

This predicted figure came to power in Germany in the 1930s and he ruled over a short-lived Empire the like of which had not been seen in Europe for almost two thousand years. Here is how one biographer introduces Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich:

“Why did a civilised nation of the twentieth century abruptly revert to barbarism? How could a shabby ex-dropout, so manifestly third-rate in all matters of the intellect, have achieved such unparalleled power? Why did the Germans come to venerate Hitler as a god? Why do he and his associates, Himmler, Goering, and Goebbels, still exert a mystique that is so conspicuously absent when we study Mussolini, Ciano and Starace, or Stalin, Molotov and Beria? Why does one feel that the Third Reich stood for a radically different kind of civilisation? Most fascinating of all, what drove Hitler, what motivated him, what went on in his mind that resulted in consequences of such magnitude?” [3]

According to this biographer, the answer to what drove Hitler can be found by examining Hitler’s relationship with the occult and his involvement in the dark arts of sorcery and spirit-possession. The author is qualified to explore this relationship because he is the late Gerald Suster, a former disciple of Golden Dawn adept Israel Regardie, who was himself the personal disciple and secretary of Aleister Crowley.

Suster’s biography is entitled Hitler: Black Magician and it documents Hitler’s involvement with  groups and individuals who used pagan rituals to contact the spirit world. One of Hitler’s closest friends was a man by the name of Dietrich Eckart and he is a primary figure (according to Suster, Peter Levenda and Trevor Ravenscroft) involved in grooming Hitler for his Satanic role. Eckart’s influence over Hitler is proven by Hitler’s dedication that appears at the very end of Mein Kampf:

“And I want also to reckon among [Nazi heroes] that man, who, as one of the best, by words and by thoughts and finally by deeds, dedicated his life to the awakening of his, of our nation: Dietrich Eckart.”

Dietrich Eckart was a popular German author, poet, and editor of an influential newspaper. He was well connected with the financial world and he was a high-level initiate in the occult world. One of the greatest influences upon his life was the Gnostic mystic Helena Blavatsky, whose anti-Christian and anti-Semitic teachings came to permeate the Third Reich, as Levenda explains:

“It should be remembered that Blavatsky’s works—notably Isis Unveiled and The Secret Doctrine—appear to be the result of prodigious scholarship and were extremely convincing in their day. The rationale behind many later Nazi projects can be traced back…to ideas first popularized by Blavatsky. A caste system of races, the importance of ancient alphabets (notably the runes), the superiority of the Aryans (a white race with its origins in the Himalayas), an “initiated” version of of astrology and astronomy, the cosmic truths coded within pagan myths … all of these and more can be found both in Blavatsky and in the Nazi Party itself, specifically in the ideology of its Dark Creature, the SS. It was, after all, Blavatsky who pointed out the supreme occult significance of the swastika.” [4]

Eckart died in 1923, but for the three years previous to his death he  was “Hitler’s constant companion and the man who helped propel him into  the public spotlight.”[5] On his death bed Eckart penned the following words to a friend, which go far to explain the spiritual source of Hitler’s brief success:

“Follow Hitler! He will dance, but it is I who have called the tune. I have initiated him into the ‘Secret Doctrine,’ opened his centers in vision and given him the means to communicate with the Powers. Do not mourn for me: I shall have influenced history more than any other German.” [6]

Identifying Adolf Hitler as the seventh manifestation of the seven-headed dragon of the Apocalypse should not be viewed as questionable or controversial whatsoever. Hitler certainly exhibited the personal characteristics of a Satanically driven and possessed individual, and his passionate hatred of the Jews is very well documented. Unfortunately, the Christian Church in Germany was too timid and too deceived to challenge Hitler directly, but there were many individual Christians who did, such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who paid for his dedication to Christ with his life. Despite the fact that the organized Church in Germany worked with the Nazi Party, Hitler’s ultimate goal was to destroy Christianity. Suster offers the following quotes from Hitler to that effect:

“The religions are all alike, no matter what they call themselves. They have no future – certainly none for the Germans… Whether it is the Old Testament or the New it’s all the same old Jewish swindle… One is either a German or a Christian. You cannot be both… We need free men who feel and know that God is in themselves… The Ten Commandments have lost their validity… Our peasants have not forgotten their true religion. It still lives… The peasant will be told what the Church has destroyed for him: the whole secret knowledge of nature, of the divine, the shapeless, the daemonic… We shall wash off the Christian veneer and bring out a religion peculiar to our race…through the peasantry we shall really be able to destroy Christianity because there is in them a true religion rooted in nature and blood.” [7]

The First Seal of the Apocalypse

In the book of Revelation the breaking of the first Seal of the seven-sealed Scroll brings forth a figure that many Bible scholars have identified as the Antichrist. However, in the book Red Moon Rising – the Rapture and the Timeline of the Apocalypse the conclusion is reached that this figure is better understood as symbolizing the brief career of Satan’s seventh king—Adolf Hitler, rather than the eighth king who will “come up out of the Abyss”:

“I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, ‘Come!’ I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.” (Revelation 6:1-2)

This figure wears a crown, as do the seven kings of Satan in Revelation 12:3, he holds a weapon, and his primary purpose is that of conquest. The possibility that this figure represents Hitler is reinforced by what comes with the opening of the second Seal, which can easily be viewed as referring to World War II:

“Salvational or Non-Salvational?”, A Pitfall From the Enemy!

by Br. John McGlone Oct 12, 2018

It seems often when it comes to the multitudes of varying doctrines that have infiltrated into Christianity, it makes you ponder, “Who holds the keys to good and enduring doctrine that we should learn and obey?”.  I see Facebook ‘debates’ of brethren who are involved in heated disputes that many times lead to misunderstandings and breaks in relations.  This should never be among Christians.  Do any of us have complete agreement on what the Lord hath said?  Are doctrines important?  Emphatically I say, “Yes and it’s salvational!” Herein lies my proof from the Bible.

1 Tim 4:16
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

So, doctrine is obviously salvational, but did Paul just mean the Gospel or any doctrine that might be found in Scripture?   We simply need to back up to vs 11 to find out:

1 Tim 4:11-15
These things command and teach.
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.  Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

In vs 13 we see, “…to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”  So, it should be generally applied to all Scripture and any doctrine that we are taught of the Holy Ghost.  Many will not agree with this interpretation but what else could it mean? Keep in mind that they primarily were using the OT to teach from.

Okay, with all the schisms, shunning, mistreatment of brethren over doctrine, why is this so important?  Because we are supposed to love each other as verse 12 describes.  If one is in error, he needs to be shown the error from Scripture.  Jam 5:19-20   Is it an easy task to lovingly deal with others that are in contradiction to your understanding?  No, but there is nothing that is precious that is easy to obtain.

Well if cosmology is described in the Bible, why wouldn’t it be a doctrine that all Christendom seek to understand and explain?  Mostly what I hear from brethren is, “Why does it matter?”.

How do we know which would be the true doctrine?  Well, the Holy Ghost teaching each of us individually as we seek understanding on any particular subject.

John 14:26-31
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Now, part of the problem is that more mature Christians who have learned over the years from the Holy Ghost and experiences what are good interpretations, now seek to teach those doctrines to others.   The seasoned believers who have endured spiritual battles, spent much time in study and meditation interact with others who have or have not made the same investment.  Or, possibly they inverse is true regarding the persons involved. This leads to a conflict in views that, more often than not, will bring unnecessary divisions because of miscommunication, misunderstandings, and lack of suffering.   These have been real life experiences for me over the course of 22 years and more recently when a dear brother of mine and I have come into hard conflict and seemingly a spiritual impasse that had brought division.  I certainly do not think either of us desired that.  Praise God, we have worked through our misunderstandings and are able to call each other brother.

Another way of telling if a doctrine we hold to is true, is to bring it before others for them to examine to see if they find truth therein.  This would not be seeking to have  some special secret doctrine which a person holds to rule over you.  But, a plain and public reading and understanding that all can nod their heads in agreement with…eventually.

2 Pet 1:20
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

I say eventually because learning new things take time.  I think every sincere Christian seeks to understand from above by the Holy Ghost.  This can be difficult, painful, and very humiliating, especially if we are the ones who need to adjust our thinking or ideology.  Part of the process of sharing doctrines are the ideas that God’s Word is as He describes.

Heb 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Prov 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Eph 6:17-18
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Every good soldier in warfare knows very well that in training he will become better in battle.  Do you train in study, prayer, armor bearing, shield and sword wielding?   Is it fun getting smacked around by another Christian in training?  No, but if the hearts are right with God and each other, who better to ready ourselves with for the real spiritual battle that lies at our doorstep?   Do you not know that the Roman legions perhaps the greatest natural army that ever existed were trained by each other first, long before they entered into an actual battlefield?

2 Tim 2:3-5
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.  And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

So, when any man challenges a doctrine you are promoting and believe, often he will give you the pitfall challenge, “Do you mean if I don’t believe this I am not saved?”  or maybe something like, “Is this salvational or non-salvational?”

1 Cor 10:12-13  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I use this pitfall example metaphorically as an example what I believe is a spiritual bomb when this question is asked to challenge doctrines that are opposed.

Certainly, some doctrines don’t fall under the heading essential, important, or salvational so it shouldn’t matter, right?

My response is all doctrines from Scripture are important and matter, period.  I think if there were exceptions to this idea they would have been listed by the Apostle Paul.   I suppose this question of, “Salvational or Non” to be a trap of the devil to bring divisions, animosities of all sorts between believers.

Phil 2:12-13
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Each of us individually need to work out our own salvation.  Do I care about my brother’s soul?  Of course, but I can’t do his work for his salvation for him.  But, I can do everything possible to ensure whatever I am teaching to be clear, concise, and biblical.  This will edify the body of Christ and strengthen us together to go out into the harvest field together.

This naturally leads me back to the point of this article.  Why do we ask each other this stumbling question, “Is this doctrine salvational or not?”.  It automatically assumes conflict or denial in this spiritually loaded question.

On the first hand, if you reply it’s salvational and they don’t agree with the doctrine,  you may have condemned them for:
1. ignorance
2. maturity
3. contrary understanding or experience
4. possible inability to comprehend naturally/spiritually
5.  poor listening/speaking skills
6. stumbling of a brother.
…and there are other many possibilities.

On the second hand, if you say it’s not a salvational issue you have:
1. lessened the importance of God’s Word and His doctrines
2. reduced or eliminated the urgency for the theological opponent to change his mind about the ideology.
3.  You have not been faithful to communicate spiritual warnings God has placed in His Word out of ‘respect’ for the person.
4.  stumbled a brother who is unrighteously condemning your biblical view.
…and there are other many possibilities.

I think the solutions that I am attempted to communicate regarding our conflict can help many to be able to be unified in the Holy Spirit and yet really examine doctrines openly without fear of reprisals, shunning, name calling, or other ad hominem attacks as we grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rom 14:7-12
For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God

So, if we seek to love our brothers, we will not judge them as condemned eternally.  Especially for those that hold doctrines that oppose our current beliefs.  I know many will balk at that idea.   Each saint of God will be judged individually before all.  At the same time, we should seek to remove stumbling blocks as Paul did.

I definitely still believe we should test all things including doctrine.  Remember previously, I agreed with God’s Word that doctrine is essential to the salvation of one’s soul, and those that hear us.  1 Tim 4:16  If I am convinced of a doctrine that the Lord has pressed upon me to teach/preach then I must out of duty to Him, the saints, and the lost do so.  Likewise each of you have the same duty to not hold back what the Lord has given you toward me and everyone else.  The neglect of doing these ideas aforementioned is one of  the deep roots of the apostate ‘church’.  At the same time God has communicated let not many among you teach, as we would give a stricter or harsher judgment.  Much responsibility comes with the territory of being a Christian ‘teacher’ at whatever level.

Some of my views which involve cosmological doctrines from the Bible, were the source of our previously mentioned hard dispute.  I have listed an in-exhaustive nine point list from the thread in footnote below.

Is Cosmology important?  Of course, this area of knowledge in both Christendom and the secular world guides either to or away from the Creator.  As an open air preacher of the Gospel I share this point over and again that God’s creation points to himself as God.  Kind of like the building/builder, painting/painter ideas which show intelligent design points back to their creator. I’ve been shocked to hear holiness open air preachers profess that they don’t believe cosmology is important as a doctrine.  What?  If it’s important to use when preaching to the lost, it surely must be important for the brethren to examine it together and publicly.

Is this study/ideology in Christendom important?  Is it essential or necessary for the salvation of my soul or others?   Of course!  Do I mean in this exact moment for you to be considered saved?  No, I mean it is essential to study these doctrines as we work out our own faith in maturity and understanding from the Holy Ghost as we all walk down this narrow and difficult way.  As many Christian geocentrists and flat earthers say, “Research it yourself.”  To re-search is to search it out again.

If GC and FE are true then who would not want this information to be understood and obeyed by Christians?  The answer of course is the father of all lies, the devil.  I know his strategy is to:  ruin human perspective of what God created so people won’t draw near to God through it, create doctrines which unbelievers may mock Christian ideology, kill and destroy souls that they may not be saved.  Ironically, the very things that sinners mock regarding God’s creation are the very forensic evidence which He will eternally condemn them with.  Do you see why cosmology is important now?

Rom 1:19-20
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

With all the misinformation from every direction on these issues you’d think a spiritual atomic bomb went off when someone talks about cosmology from the old paths, ie geocentricity or Hebraic cosmology. ….I think people are having a worldwide awakening to the idea of ‘truth’, and seeking that.  If they are sincere they will find Jesus, who is the truth, the way, and the life.  John 14:6

We see Job’s complaining against God brings a very strong scourging from God unto Job in chapters 38-39 regarding His cosmogony.

Then the Lord answered Job – This speech is addressed particularly to Job, …,  because he had indulged in language of murmuring and complaint. God designed to bring him to a proper state of mind before he appeared openly for his vindication.  -Albert Barnes Notes on Job

Job 38:1-6
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

Matt 24:29-31
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

This passage begs the question about the stars falling to earth.  Of course, the natural scientists don’t believe this, but do you?  Is this simply poetry, simile, or something else?  What’s your interpretation?  Please feel free to comment below the blog post with thoughts.

Some of my cosmological views from the Bible, were the source of our previously mentioned hard dispute.  After my cosmological opponent laid out his beliefs I used his outline and inserted my understandings.  Here is how it went on FB.

“Since some religious ‘spirits’ have been stirred up by this post, I want to clarify some things and explain my position fully in regards to flat earth.

1. I 100% believe the earth is generally flat as evidenced by the oceans and water always seeks level which creates a horizon which is horizontal. I believe the earth is the center of the universe, stationary and immovable as God’s Word plainly states. I say all of this with no reservations whatsoever.

2. I have no issue whatsoever if someone chooses to believe the earth is rotund, oblate, pear shaped, or otherwise. Nor do I condemn those that believe helioentricity. However, I believe that the belief in the scientism and aforementioned doctrines to be anti-cogent, illogical, and scientifically unsound. But, don’t expect me to shut up because you don’t agree with what I believe by faith.

3. The bible is not silent on the cosmology of God’s creation.

4. I believe that anyone who makes cosmology of no importance for careful examination is wrong. Calling me a heretic hurts my feelings but I’ll get over it.

5. For some, the belief in the ‘science’ they have been taught in public school at every level has become an idol.

6. I think ribbing or joking about ideas in good fun to be okay. But, we are talking about God’s cosmogeny and it is no laughing matter to belittle what He hath said.

7. Accusing someone of being a heretic because they do not believe in heliocentrism or geocentrism or a particular shape of the world as we know it, is slander and sinful.

8. I believe that taking clear statements in God’s word to be figurative, simile, metaphor, or poetic could very well lead to major errors in understanding of God’s Word, will, and creation.

9. I believe the devils influenced and started the modern ideas of the ‘scientific’ heliocentric theory to discredit God and His Word.”

Lastly, “Do I think this is salvational or non salvific?”  For me, emphatically yes!  Because I have studied it thoroughly for four years and can not deny what God has taught in His Word.   To do so would blaspheme the Holy Ghost who taught me these things.  What about you?  Have you even bothered to see if these things are so from the Bible?  Or have you shrugged it off and thought, “Why is this important?” and gone back to sleep on the issues.  If you have gotten this far into this blog, may I interest you in checking our our Confronting the Cosmogony page?  Thank you and God bless you.

South Latitudes Disprove Global Scientism!

Introduction by John McGlone

As a navigator in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 21 years it took me over four years of regular and sometimes very intense seasons of study to answer enough questions for myself to come to the cosmological view of geocentricity and the flat earth domed model of our ‘earth’ that I would actually discuss and promote these things publicly.

Ship Captains and First Mates have wrestled through hundreds of years of voyaging and the two worst areas to sail are the northern and southerly latitudes.  Anything above or below the Arctic or Antarctic Circles were filled with horrifying stories of men and ship’s inexplicably and tragically lost.   It is now my belief that God has topographically, environmentally, and naturally hindered the approaches to the ‘north pole’ or the icy edge of the ‘southern’ continent.  Check the following reading I am currently studying for information about these relatively modern mariners struggles in the southerly latitudes especially.

excerpt by Edward Hendrie’s book, “The Greatest Lie on Earth”

Obviously, the globe model presents the traveler with a significantly different configuration than does the flat earth model, particularly in the so-called “southern hemisphere.” The discrepancy between the reality of a flat earth and the myth of a south seas.

Samuel Rowbotham, in his book Zetetic Astronomy, explains the dangers of the false charts based upon a globe model: In the southern hemisphere, navigators to India have often fancied themselves east of the Cape when still west, and have been driven ashore on the African coast, which, according to their reckoning, lay behind them. This misfortune happened to a fine frigate, the Challenger, in 1845.405 How came Her Majesty’s Ship Conqueror, to be lost? How have so many other noble vessels, perfectly sound, perfectly manned, perfectly navigated, been wrecked in calm weather, not only in a dark night, or in a fog, but in broad daylight and sunshine–in the former case upon the coasts, in the latter, upon sunken rocks–from being ‘out of reckoning,’ under circumstances which until now, have baffled every satisfactory explanation.406 Rowbotham explains how the British ship Challenger completed the circuit of the southern region, indirectly, to be sure, circumnavigating Antarctica. The approximate circumference of Antarctica is supposed to be approximately 14,460 statute miles on the globular earth model. However, the Challenger spent three years and traversed nearly 69,000 miles. That is a distance that would have allowed the ship to circle Antarctica over 4 times if the earth were in fact a globe. The 69,000 mile long journey around the circumference of the earth that is Antarctica, however, is perfectly explained by a flat earth.

Rowbotham quotes from voyagers, who found that their charts, which used a globular earth model, almost always put them off course in the south seas. “We found ourselves every day from 12 to 16 miles by observation in advance of our reckoning.”  Another southern seafarer stated: “By our observations at noon we found ourselves 58 miles to the eastward of our reckoning in two days.”  The spherical earth charts did not account for the expanse of distance between the lines of longitude the further south one travels on a flat earth. Consequently, the mariners’ true position on the earth, determined by using celestial navigation and a chronometer, was found to be off by several degrees from the position on the chart that was plotted using dead reckoning. One mariner detailed the distance that the erroneous charts, which assumed a globular earth, put them off course in the south seas. February 11th, 1822, at noon, in latitude 65.53. S. our chronometers gave 44 miles more westing than the log in three days. On 22nd of April (1822), in latitude 54.16. S. our longitude by chronometers was 46.49, and by D.R. (dead reckoning)47°11´: On 2nd May (1822), at noon, in latitude 53.46. S., our longitude by chronometers was 59° 27´, and by D.R. 61° 6´. October 14th, in latitude 58.6, longitude by chronometers 62° 46´, by account 65° 24´. In latitude 59.7. S., longitude by chronometers was 63°28´, by account 66°42´. In latitude 61.49. S., longitude by chronometers was 61° 53´, by account 66° 38´.

The skippers of the ships in the south seas could only guess that the discrepancies between their dead reckoning plotted on their charts and their true positions, confirmed by precise chronometers and sextants, was due to the currents. Rowbotham explains, however, that currents could not possibly account for the navigation errors, because the errors in the navigation were manifested regardless of whether the ships were traveling east or west. The commander of the United States exploring expedition, Lieutenant Wilkes, in his narrative, says that in less than 18 hours he was 20 miles to the east of his reckoning in latitude 54° 20´ S. He gives other instances of the same phenomenon, and, in common with almost all other navigators and writers on the subject, attributes the differences between actual observation and theory to currents, the velocity of which, at latitude 57° 15´ S., amounted to 20 miles a day. The commanders of these various expeditions were, of course, with their education and beliefin the earth’s rotundity, unable to conceive of any other cause for the differences between log and chronometer results than the existence of currents. But one simple fact is entirely fatal to such an explanation, viz., that when the route taken is east or west the same results are experienced. The water of the southern region cannot be running in two opposite directions at the same time; and hence, although various local and variable currents have been noticed, they cannot be shown to be the cause of the discrepancies so generally observed in high southern latitudes between time and log results. The conclusion is one of necessity–is forced upon us by the sum of the evidence collected that the degrees of longitude in any given southern latitude are larger than the degrees in any latitude nearer to the northern centre; thus proving the already more than sufficiently demonstrated fact that the earth is a plane, having a northern centre, in relation to which degrees of latitude are are diverging lines, continually increasing in their distance from each other as they are prolonged towards the great glacial southern circumference.

Conclusions by Br. John McGlone

In closing:  1.  Admiral Byrd’s adventures into the Antarctica revealed the immensity and impossibility of actually confirming the globe.  2.  The forensic evidence of the edge of our world has forced the nations of the earth to an inclusive treaty that everyone has kept!  3.  The old school mariners had the same problem modern ones do in higher latitudes especially the southerly  4.  The actual distance to circle the ‘continent of Antarctica’, or more accurately circle the perimeter of the edge, must be greater than approximately 70.000 nautical miles.  5.  Because I don’t believe we have even ventured close to where the heavenly firmament [dome] meets the edge of the terra firma we can’t really give an exact measure of the distance in point four.  6.  God has set these limits upon mankind to point them to Himself.  Topographic, extreme weather temperatures, pressures, storms, hardness of the firmaments, etc also prevent us from  venturing beyond our terrestrial environ.  7.  All of this is confirmed by natural and spiritual evidences in our own experiences, in Holy writ, and extrabiblical literature.

Finally, IF the edge of the FE = ~70,000 nautical miles / π or 3.14 = ~ 22,293 nm
This is very close to the calculated circumference of the ‘globe’ by the pythagorean theorum and is confirmed by actual distances from the center or ‘north’ pole and the edge of the antarctic continent or rim. From 90°N the north pole or center pole of the earth to the equator = 5400 nm from the equator to 90°S or the edge of the face of the earth = 5400 nm.  So, 5400 nm X 4 quadrants = 21,600 nm.  Stop the presses this must mean we live on a globe right?  Wrong.  The pi presumes a circle in our calculation but for global believers they presume a 3D globe.  But, FE’rs don’t presume a pancake, but a structure as the Bible describes with foundations, pillars, the deep etc.   If you go to google earth you will see how they can jump between 2D & 3D with the click of a button, let that sink in for a few minutes….

Lost Books Mentioned in the Bible

by John McGlone  Aug 10, 2018
ERRATA: *** CHANGES ENUMERATED Oct 4, 2023

I have always been intrigued by extra biblical books that are mentioned within canon of the Holy Bible that we have today.  {I can only deduct that depending on the context they must also be Scripture and inspired by the Holy Ghost.}

ERRATA #1***  I am continuing to study these lost books mentioned in the Bible to consider their authenticity as references for the Christian faith.  We believe any books worth studying as relevant to the 66 books verbal plenary inspiration must meet the following hermeneutical considerations to even press forward with more historical and forensic research.

FILTERS TO CONSIDER RESEARCHING LOST BOOKS OF THE BIBLE AS
VERBAL PLENARY INSPIRED SCRIPTURE

1. It must be mentioned in the Bible in historical text and context.

2. Must have historical/archaeological evidence to support itself.  For example, the book of Enoch is found in the Qumran caves with the other canonized Scriptures.

3. law of non-contradiction, it can not contradict obvious salvation pending doctrines like prophecies, virgin birth, Jesus is God, etc.

4. recover by the power of the Holy Spirit any and all lost books or epistles that have been possibly removed from the canon. Our goal is never to add or take away from the 66.

5. We must do this by faith that the Holy Spirit leads us and teaches us on the matters of the book or letter that we are historically and archaeologically examining. ***

Rev 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

1 Tim 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The below image I found on FB peaked my interest months ago and goes way beyond; Enoch, Jubliee, and other well known Apocryphal and/or ‘lost books’.

Num 21:14-16 Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,  And at the stream of the brooks that goeth down to the dwelling of Ar, and lieth upon the border of Moab.  And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

Josh 10:13-14 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Isnot this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.  And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
1 Kings 11:41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
1 Chr 29:29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,
2 Chr 9:29  Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
2 Chr 12:15  Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
2 Chr 20:34  Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
2 Chr 33:19  His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

1 Cor 5:9  I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

Col 4:16  And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

Jude 1:14  And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,…[prophecy from God is so detailed that it indicates it must have been written down previously.]

LINK to Book of Enoch

LINK to Book of Jasher

LINK to Apocryphal books

Last thoughts on this;  1.  I have always believed that men have and will continue to add to, or take away from the Word of God therefore bring great damnation upon themselves.  2.  The KJVO view is nullified by these additional writings if they are true. it’s first edition in 1611 which included the Apochrypha as inspired writings then removed them at later dates.**   3.  There are many clarifying concepts that can be gleaned from some of these writings.  4. We need to discern by the Holy Ghost and not just accept something that may be spiritually dictated to us.  5.  Reminds us to stay humble and not become high minded  6.  All of these writings are prewritten before the Council of Nicea.
7.  The Bible tells us that in the latter days, knowledge will increase.  Will that be true of the saints of God as we see this quickly approaching storm called the Great Tribulation?

Rev 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

BLUE LETTER BIBLE RE: ENOCH 1
https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/canon.cfm

The Book of Jude seemingly contains a quotation of the intertestamental Book of Enoch. The question results from a citation found in Jude 14.

Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints’ (Jude 14).

Jude records a prophecy made by Enoch, who lived before the flood of Noah. Enoch predicted the coming of the Lord to judge wicked individuals. The Apostle Paul wrote of this same judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). This prophecy made by Enoch is not recorded in the Old Testament. Two questions arise: (1) Where did Jude obtain his information? (2) Was Jude’s information correct?

During the period between the testaments the Book of Enoch was written. It contains this prophecy. Some assume that Jude obtained this prophecy from the Book of Enoch, but this is not the case. Jude does not quote from the Book of Enoch but rather directly from Enoch. This could have been by means of special revelation from God or from some now unknown written source. The source of Jude’s quotation was the person Enoch. Where the Book of Enoch derived his information is another matter. It is possible that the source of the quotation found in the Book of Enoch was Jude, since there is no evidence as to the precise contents of the Book of Enoch until several centuries after Jude was written. Whatever the answer may be. It is not necessary to assume that Jude considered the Book of Enoch as authoritative.

Since we believe that Jude’s writing was inspired by God, we take this information as being correct. It is not essential to know how Jude obtained this information. Jesus had promised that His disciples would be indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who would guide them into all truth.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak (John 16:13).

Because of Jesus’ promise, the words of the New Testament writers were safeguarded from error.

We conclude that Jude did not quote from the Book of Enoch, but received the information in some other way.

MY RESPONSES TO BLB TEACHING ON THE BOOK OF 1 ENOCH

  1. They assert that Jude could have only been inspired by the Holy Ghost not from the manuscript of
1 Enoch.  How do they know this?  How do any of the scholars know this?  How do we know this?  Is it a possibility that it was regarded as inspired by the early believers in the 1st through the 4th centuries?  Before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls we didn’t have the script evidence to prove that at least there is such a book.

Do You Believe in Hell? Annihilationism Examined

By Br. John McGlone

I recently had a great conversation with a young man on the doctrine of hell and his unbelief that God would torment people for eternity in fire.   He holds to the view of annihilationism.  This is basically the view that God will destroy sinners by fire but that would be finite and not everlasting as the Bible teaches.  He made an appeal to the many times that the Bible says that God will destroy or bring destruction upon the unbeliever.  I agreed with him that there are multitudes of verses, but added that you can not ignore the others that speak of a conscious torment in fire, gnashing of teeth, etc.   Here are a few verses from his interpretation:

Pro_15:11  Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Pro_16:18  Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Pro_21:15  It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Exo_22:20  He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

Psa_37:38  But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

Psa_92:7  When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

I immediately referred him to Mark 9:43-37 which is a direct quote from Jesus Christ.
Mar 9:43-50  And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45  And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47  And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 49  For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. 50  Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

Well, in this passage it is referring to sinners who won’t cut sin, which offends God, out of their life.  This passage begs the question what is ‘their worm’, and why does Jesus mention it?  Firstly, the sinner has ownership of this worm, so by deduction we know that ownership will be eternal as the worm dieth not and are existing with the sinner in the fire.

I then queried him about the passage in Rev 14.

Rev 14:9-11  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

I think he was surprised by my bringing up this passage and had not considered this one.  Yet, I was surprised within a few moments he agreed that this group of people that had received the mark of the beast would in fact suffer forever in conscious torment in fire.  This tells me that the Bible is the source which he is willing to surrender his ideas to, and adjust accordingly.  This is both a good sign and good practice for all believers.  I asked him if he thought this would be partiality on God’s part, he replied no.  I think he answered that too quickly and didn’t consider the ramifications of God burning these people forever, yet treating other sinners in a differing manner.

One of the most compelling passages about eternal fire and damnation is from Matt 25.

Mat 25:31-46  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32  And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: …
…44  Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45  Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

This passage clearly points out the eternality of God’s justice, not just that it burns forever, but ‘these’ are in that punishment not just destruction.

Lastly, I pointed out to the young man and he agreed that none of us deserve heaven forever, but we all deserve hell forever.  I also shared that it is a temptation to try and make God more ‘loving’ than he has already shown at the bloody cross of Jesus and in His Word which is true forever and ever, and ever, and ever…

He began to respond with the Sheol in the Hebrew argument meaning ‘in the grave’.  At this point I believed the Lord was leading me to back off and allow some of the seeds and watering I had already done on this issue to sink in and germinate with him.

Here is a great blog on hell and it’s ramifications.  I don’t agree with all the points but it is very good.  I think you will be encouraged.
